Confidentiality and privacy are considered as essential component of effective treatment.  No information will be disclosed unless the client has given permission or the situation represent an exception to confidentiality which includes a danger to self or others, child and elder abuse.  Limits of confidentiality will be clearly described and discussed at the begining of treatment.
